Graded Project
So far so good I think with the project, however I’m a bit cautious about how thorough I’m being with my approach towards the brief. Im really enjoying the various collage techniques I have been experimenting so far such as the glass, cardboard, various paper surfaces and photographs. I plan to experiment in the next few days with monoprints and painting.
Not long until Berlin folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Patience
This week I have been casting like mad! I have made nine plaster bricks, one made from wax and another from latex. The one thing I hate about casting is the waiting and the shrinking of the wax! Its going to cost me £3.00 per brick to make a wax as it keep shrinking in the mould, I hope to make another two to cut up and create some interesting shapes with them.
This week!
I feel I have had a very good productive week so far with my conceptual and 3d protective work, which I’m really chuffed at!
Stuffing a hundred Tesco bags yesterday wasn’t exactly exciting but I’m all prepared for the final piece now finally!! Also my moulds came out no bad aswell for 3d protection, which I’m over the moon with! I feel my confidence strengthening in 2d protection aswell, I have been painting inside shoe boxes (sounds quite random but I quite like the effect!) the last few days.
Protection 3d
Experimented in making a shelter shape with cardboard. Poured glue and white acrylic over the piece to create interesting and effective textures, which represent my footsteps through life. I chose to to paint it white to express innocence and purity, which I found it quite effective. The name tags under the the shelter are people who protect me or who I protect personally.
